UNCW EOS has educational and research facilities on main campus and the Center for Marine Science. These spaces contain smart classrooms, research laboratories, and state-of-the-art spatial analysis and remote sensing laboratories. The department is well equipped with modern geologic, geographic, and oceanographic instruments including RTK GPS and a suite of drones with a variety of sensors. Our expertise focuses on advanced field work and computational sciences such as climate change, sea-level rise, urbanization, wetlands and other natural resources habitats, and coastal hazards and resilience. Our mission is to advance the science while providing our students with ample opportunities to get involved in research and community engagement.

We are conducting research in North Carolina and run a thriving Internship Program. Please contact us if you have an interest in learning more about our programs and activities.
