NCAUG INSPIR(ATION) AWARD

Celebrating Those Who Inspire the
North Carolina GIS Community

The NCAUG Inspir(ation) Award recognizes an individual in North Carolina who has made a lasting impact on the GIS community through their work, leadership, and mentorship.

Help us recognize someone who has made a meaningful impact on the GIS community in North Carolina.

About the Award

NCAUG will present the Inspir(ation) Award to celebrate a GIS professional who has dedicated their career to advancing geospatial technology in North Carolina while inspiring others along the way.  The recipient is someone who consistently demonstrates excellence in their work, serves as a mentor to others in the field, and leads with both knowledge and character.  In short, this award honors a true GIS rockstar whose influence has helped strengthen and grow the NC GIS community.

Award Recipients will receive:

  • $500 cash prize

  • Recognition on the NCAUG website

  • One (1) Complimentary Conference Registration

  • Hotel Accommodations for the Conference

Nomination Requirements​

To nominate and individual for the Inspir(ation) Award, the following materials must be submitted: ​

  • Completed nomination application (submitted through Wild Apricot)

  • Letters of recommendation supporting the nominee

  • Examples of GIS projects or contributions that demonstrate the nominee's impact

Important Dates​

  • Nominations Open: March 12, 2026

  • Nominations Close: May 22, 2026
